Natural Moissanite dates back to the late nineteenth century. The term Moissanite comes from Dr. Henri Moissan, who discovered this mineral in the Arizona crater in 1904. Most of the moissanite on the market is artificially synthesized. Natural moissanite is very rare and only appears in craters, usually presenting in dark green and black colors.
Featuring D color, unique Belgian cut, and FL/IF clarity grade, this type of top-tier Moissan diamond is often referred to as a magic star diamond.
The appearance of Moissanite is strikingly similar to natural diamonds, making it difficult to distinguish with the naked eye. It is the gemstone with physical properties closest to a natural diamond. Moissanite's colorful fire is actually 2.5 times stronger than diamonds. With a dispersion value of 0.104 and refraction index of 2.65, it exceeds diamonds (0.044 and 2.417 respectively). In terms of Mohs hardness, it scores 9.25, significantly higher than most other gemstones.
